How to date your Olds.
1946 - 1948, you can only work out the date from the production number of the vehicle. There is no date code in the vehicle number.
1949 - 1963, the year is the first two digits of the serial number eg 49, would be a 1949 built model.
1964 only, the year is the third digit ie 4 = 1964.
1965 - 1979, the sixth digit indicated the model year eg 5 = 1965,1975 9 = 1969,1979
1980 only, the sixth digit indicates the model year ie A = 1980
1981 - 1997, the tenth digit indicated the model year eg B = 1981, H = 1987 but J = 1988, N = 1992 but P = 1993 & R = 1994, T = 1996 but V = 1997.
